Welsh Show Round Up 2007
With fewer exhibitors and the wet weather there was still some excellent exhibits staged at the Shows in the Principality in 2007.
Royal Welsh 23rd July, Silver medal awarded to Mr E. Pugh (Brecon) with Tahati Ruby, the Bronze was won by R&L. Evans (Swansea) with Tahati Ruby, Gweneth and Sheps Memory.
Llanelli 4th August saw Nick and Linda Lewis (Kidwelly) win both Silver and Bronze medals with Ruskin Avenger and Ruskin Lisa. On home turf, Kidwelly 11th August the couple once again took top honours with Mary’s Jomanda and Ruskin Avenger. On the same day in Dunvant R&L Evans won the Silver. The Bronze going to Mark Ashton (Port Talbot) with Tui Orange.
At the Vale Of Glamorgan the Silver was won by Monty Price (Pencoed) with Charlie Two, the Bronze by Mark Aston with Lemon Elegance, Narrows Trica, and Jim Branaghan.
At the West Wales Dahlia Show held on the 21st.of August the Silver was won by Graham Fry (Cardiff) with Pop Willow, Moorplace and Gurtla Twilight, the Bronze to Mark Aston with Ruskin Andrea, Narrows Trica and Jim Branaghan.
Welsh Dahlia Society show held at Margam Park on August Bank Holiday the Silver was won by R&L Evans with their 3 vases of waterlillies, 1st.Bronze Medal going to Nick and Linda Lewis the 4 vase championship the 2nd going Graham Fry for 6 pom blooms of different varieties.
At the Rhonda Cynon Taf Show, Malc Higgins won the silver with Cream Moonlight, Laurens Moonlight, and Millennium. This exhibit also took best Exhibit in Show. Malc Higgins also won the Bronze medal with a vase of David Digweed.

Cardiff on the 5th of September the Silver medal winner was Malc Higgins (Abertillery) with Kenora Challenger, White Moonlight and Sunlight Pastelle. Bronze medal went to Graham Fry with Poms.
Treherbert Show 9th.September, both medals were won by Malc Higgins with his Championship Exhibit of 3 vases M.S.C. Malc. also won the Welsh Silver Medal with a vase from the same exhibit “Cream Moonlight”. On to Pontypool, on the 15th. September Malc Higgins dominated once again, winning the Silver with Eastward Moonlight, Cream Moonlight and White Moonlight. Dave Jones (Blaenavon) season started late, with the Bronze for Cherwell Linnette..
Now in full flush Dave Jones won the Silver at Brecon 16th. September with Primrose Diane, Marys Jomanda and Cherwell Linnette He also won the Bronze Medal with Vases of Guertia Twilight and Moorplace. On the same day over the valleys to Ynyswen Eric Payne (Neath) took the Silver with the biggest set of giants Bryn Terfil seen in this area. Mike Davies (Hengoed) won the Bronze with Charlie Two, Grenidor Pastelle and Rhondda Suzanne.
Congratulations to those Welsh Exhibitors who achieved some success at the National Show despite the poor weather this year.
