Welsh Show Scene Round Up 2009 First show of the season “The Royal Welsh” the silver medal was awarded to the father and son team Richard and Leighton Evans for vases of Gwyneth, Jomanda and Saran Thomas. The pair also won the bronze medal for a mixed basket of collerettes. 18th. August at the West Wales Dahlia Society Show the silver went to Dave Jones for three vase class, Debora’s Kewi, Jomanda and Mary’s Jomanda. Mark Aston was awarded the bronze for his three vases of Ruskin Lisa, Ruskin Andrea and Eastward Moonlight. Next day at the Vale of Glamorgan show the pair was again successful, Dave winning the silver medal for Trelyn Kewi, Jomanda and Marys Jomanda. Mark being awarded bronze for three vases Ruskin Lisa, Ruskin Andrea and Ruskin Michelle. The 22nd. Of August saw two shows held on the same day. Dunvant and Kidwelly. At Dunvant Mark Aston won the silver medal with a vase of Ruskin Lisa and the bronze was awarded to Robert Hughes for a vase of waterlillies. Over in Kidwelly Mark again won the silver with three vases Ruskin Lisa, Ruskin Andrea and Lakeland Sunset. Nick and Linda Lewis won the bronze with vases of Ruskin Andrea, Ruskin Lisa and Kenora Challenger. On the bank holiday Sunday at Ystrad Rhonda the Welsh Dahlia Society held their annual show thanks to the generous sponsorship of Rhondda Cynon Taf Council. Silver medal was awarded to Howard Thomas for two vases of Winholme Diane. Two bronze medals are awarded, one going to Richard Thomas (England) for a nice set of six giant decorative the other to Dave Jones for two vases of miniature balls. Silver Medal Exhibit Welsh Show 2009 At Ynyswen Show held on the 7th. September Mark Aston 
was awarded the silver medal for Lakeland Sunset, Eastward Moonlight and Ruby. Eric Payne was awarded the bronze for a vase of Kenora Jubilee . Next show in the calendar was the midweek show held at Cardiff where Howard Thomas was awarded the silver for vases of Jomanda and Mary’s Jomanda. Bronze medal was awarded to Graham Fry for three vases of Poms. 14th. September at the Treherbert Show Graham Lewis won the silver with the three vase championship with vases of Brenda T, Kewi Gloria and Kenora Challenger. Bronze medal was awarded to runner up in the championship Eric Payne with vases of Kenora Jubilee, Cream Moonlight and a vase of Waterlillies. On Saturday 19th. September at Pontypool Dave Jones won both medals, the silver for three vase class, Kenora Challenger, Kewi Gloria and Jacks Pastelle. The bronze awarded to a vase of Charlie Briggs’ Last show of the season in Wales was held in Brecon market hall on the 20th.September. Roger Ingham won both medals the silver for his championship entry consisting of vases Ruskin Avenger, Trelyn Kewi and Kenora Challenger. Bronze, for a fine vase of B.J. Beauty. Mr Mark Aston once again the Societys top exhibitor with most NAS's. Mark well done.
